Hex in the Open

Place: Charlottetown, PE
Program: Exploration/Installations
Year: 2014

Client: Art in the Open
Cost: $90
Size: 110 SF

During the Art in the Open festival, the Architect Association of Prince Edward Island held a competition to build an inhabitable space for under $100. The design manifested as a semi-spherical dome structure built solely out of salvaged cardboard with mechanical connections made using only recyclable butterfly clips

The installation was designed to be easily transported, constructed, and dismounted with stackable, tapered, hexagonal modules.
