Nine Yards Studio proudly participates in Charlottetown’s annual Art in the Open event, which places all kinds of artists and disciplines in an outdoor, city-wide exhibit. 9Y’s 2021 instalment, Duality, is an exploration of the discoid shape.

Using 450 interlocking plywood discs and nothing else, Duality emphasizes colour contrast, shadows and light, and varying sightlines. Observing the perimeter or taking the pathway through the pair of 9-foot tall structures reveals that no two elevations share the same appearance.
